July 4th was a good time up in Park City. They have a nice parade that comes down the main street with all the shops etc.. Fly fishing a beautiful spring creek in mid-summer with a dog, some river shoes, quick dry pants, a light rod and a big hatch is a wonderful day dream. This week I fished the Beaver River for 3 days, and a day at Kent’s Lake mixed in. We stayed at the KOA in Beaver, Utah. It’s a two horse town off I-15 between Cedar City and nowhere. The river runs East to West, and used to run through town, I think, but now it gets diverted, before town, from the the river in the mountains to farm irrigation. My favorite fish to fly fish for is the Brown Trout. Lately I’ve been seeing something about a tiger trout posted all over social media. They are really cool looking as they have worm like squigley markings on their back. They are a cross between a brown and brook trout.
